The other day - 28 November 2025 - while looking for a box I came across one marked 'Zero2 Remote Control' and decided to have another look at both the IR-remote Controler which Basyl had worked on, and this Induction-Loop Controler.
I did try them out in 1995 and the LEDs on Zero2 flashed a bit but that was all.
The Induction-Loop Controler.still works no better and on connecting a 'scope to the receiver it was obvious why - in amongst all the noise there is only a faintly detectable signal and on looking inside the boxes any hope of debugging the electronics vanished completely, a five year old could have done a better job of soldering things together. Not only that I would have to unsolder things just to get a circuit board out of its box!
Despite Douglas Dwyer saying he had Zero2 working I've never remembered seeing anyone demonstrating it at IGR, nor anyone even saying it worked.
