    The Bug uses eight servos for the four legs.

    There are switches built into each front foot for contact sensing and the head has two Light Dependant Resistors for eyes. Obstacles can be detected by three whiskers and there are two tilt swtches so dangerous slopes can be avoided.

    The controller is Stamp2 module from Parallax.
