After making Hugo for the workshop on Animatronics I gave to the Props Department at the Royal National Theatre, London, I went to see Edward Buckley at Milford Instruments with the idea that Milford could maybe sell it as a kit. We agreed and I produced a prototype in plywodd and Milford made a control board to my design.

The circuit enables the user to record 15 seconds of sound or speech using the onboard microphone and recording chip.
